 Штатовская формация решила посвятить второй релиз принципу талиона, что наталкивает на рассуждения о непримиримом противопоставлении себя всем известному эгрегору. По традиции, перед каждым полноразмерным треком следует пространное и атмосферное интро. Если проводить сравнения с дебютником, то здесь мы наблюдаем более цепкий по своей структуре материал с наличием полуатональных, но радующих слух соло-партий гитары. Ритм остался практически неизменным; тем не менее, нет злоупотребления массивными однотипными частями, разбавляемыми теперь стройным и осмысленным подходом к сооружению остова композиций. Мелодичности и неторопливости теперь отводится значительно больше пространства, что приходится к месту для создания не просто атмосферы, но и соответствующего, обоснованного гармонически, настроения. За ударными восседает не кто иной, как Майк Браунинг, максимально чётко и со вкусом оформивший ритмовое полотно альбома. Если всё же попробовать провести параллели с детищем Глена Бентона, как с упоминаемым многими критиками ближайшим ориентиром, то невооружённым глазом заметно, что Acheron разнообразнее и медитативнее (и это если абстрагироваться от разного подхода к окончательному результату). Приятный альбом, говорящий о золотых деньках команды и стиля в целом. Пусть наверняка и не лучший в дискографии, но, безусловно, один из лучших. |
