 Четвёртый альбом шведских хард рокеров. Изменений в составе здесь не наблюдается, так что диск записан посредством тех же музыкантов создавших предыдущую удачную студийную пластинку «Humanimal», того же самого выдающегося результата ребята добились и здесь. Группа ограничилась только приглашёнными гостями в виде отметившихся таких бэк вокалистов как Джуди Вайтсайдс и Дуг Боссил – это конечно хорошо, но какого-то особо заметного результата не даёт, потому, как и раньше припевы у Талисмана были очень хорошими и мощными. Замечательное качество записи меня нисколько не удивляет, разве что выпирающая на перёд бас гитара оставляет в шоковом состоянии, во всяком случае, это выглядит хорошо, тем более звучит очень мощно и придаёт музыке повышенный агрессивный оттенок (вспомните, как это делали такие треш металлические монстры как Testament, Overkill и другие). К новшествам в техническом плане можно приписать некоторые элементы прогрессивности – то есть частенько меняется ритм композиций, порой оставляя за собой небольшую озадаченность. В мелодическом же плане пластинка представляет собой логическое продолжение предыдущих альбомов – возьмите тяжесть и жёсткость музыки диска «Humanimal», плюс классическая, знакомая мелодика и вот вам новый альбом супергруппы. Теперь подойду непосредственно к характеристике песен: начинается диск мощным и динамичным боевиком «Tears In The Sky» –хит номер один на альбоме, далее идёт менее запоминающаяся и намного слабая вещь «Temptation», за ней следует мега шедевр - заглавная композиция «Life» поражающая своей блистательной и разнообразной мелодией, резкими сменами ритма и задушевным замечательным припевом. «Sympathy» - среднестатистический трек, абсолютно типичнейшая вещица, не вызывающая у меня никаких чувств вообще, просто ещё один номер в плэйлисте. «All That Really Matter» – это не кавер Мадонны, но зато просто замечательный средне темповый боевик с волнующим и запоминающимся припевом. «Loveblind» – наиболее всего интересная вещь в плане технического исполнения, а именно из-за чудесной соло партии сквозящей на протяжении всей песни. «Crazy» – не совсем вписывается в общую канву пластинки, это и не баллада, и не тяжёлый номер, что-то среднее между названным, она очень спокойная и грозная, так что несильно рассчитывайте на «сумасшедшее» и «крэйзанутое» настроение. А вот «So Long» – меня легонько разочаровала, похожесть и клишированность в каждом её моменте просто таки раздражает. Несколько похожая и жалкая ситуация наблюдается и в песне «Body» – вот эти два проходящих произведения и снижают оценку релиза. Последняя песня и бесподобный, неповторимый шедевр – «Soul To Soul»,в которой тоже заметен прогрессивный подход к озвучиванию, наличие упругого ритма и тревожной атмосферы. Должен заметить, что в конце идут два бонуса – это нудный боевик «How Was I Know» с прогрессивной основой, и вещь, очень заинтересовавшая меня «Hands Of Time» - странно, что её поставили бонусом, потому что выглядит она очень даже могучим и бессмертным хитом команды, но не как обыкновенной допиской. Ах да, совсем забыл - нужно упомянуть об интересных текстах песен, особенно это касается трека «Life», где очень чутко описываются чувства некоего человека и его любовь к матери, а также композиция «Soul To Soul» советующая не убегать от перемен, да и вообще лирика у Талисмана всегда носила ярко выраженный лирично-драматический характер, как и вся музыкальная часть, направленная, прежде всего на тонкую атмосферу любовных переживаний и чувственность. Резюмируя всё выше сказанное ради истины замечу, что диск очень хороший, хоть и не лишённый минусов, но твёрдо держащий планку качества коллектива и способный потягаться как с таким их вечным творением как «Humanimal», так и с другими работами в стиле современного тяжёлого хард рока, да что там говорить – он отличен во всех отношениях, тем более я советовал бы с него начинать знакомство с группой.
