А этим альбомом Skyclad окончательно поразили всех своих поклонников и в очередной раз показали мэйнстриму незамысловатую фигуру с оттопыренным средним пальцем. Альбом настоящих менестрелей. "Oui Avant-garde a Chance" еще раз доказал, что группа занимается музыкой исключительно ради неё самой, полностью отдавшись воле творческих ветров, которые отправили группу после записи данного альбома в акустический тур, прошедший преимущественно в ирландских пабах.
Будучи выпущенным буквально через полгода после своего предшественника "Irrational Anthems", обозначившего новую главу в истории группы, "Oui Avant-garde a Chance" явился апогеем «фолькового» периода в творчестве Skyclad, подарив слушателям коллекцию чудных мелодий, практически полностью сыгранных в акустике и наполненных хрупкими гармониями. Помимо новых песен, на альбоме была представлена акустическая версия "History Lessons" и развеселая "Penny Dreadful" с предыдущего альбома в новой трактовке. Альбом отличает воздушный звук, пронизанный скрипичными партиями подобно серебряным нитям. Тетушка Бидл – виртуоз, каких поискать. С первых же нот музыка прямо-таки оживает, полностью заполняя собой окружающее пространство. Каждая нота сыграна с удивительной бережностью. Создается впечатление, что музыканты в буквальном смысле ласкают свои инструменты.
Знаете, в кельтских преданиях в различных интерпретациях распространены истории о людях, ненароком ставших свидетелями танцев фэйри (эльфов) прямо посреди поля, или где-нибудь в лесу. Когда человек становится участником этого хоровода, то чувствует необыкновенное веселье и время для него словно останавливается. Однако, когда веселье закончено и счастливец возвращается домой, то оказывается, что с тех пор как он покинул дом прошло уже лет 200. К чему это я? Да все к тому, что "Oui Avant-garde a Chance" прекрасно отражает настроение упомянутых забав фэйри, рождая картины зеленых долин и лесов, пронизанных магией «маленького народца». И когда начинаешь слушать эту музыку, время действительно словно останавливается. Однако расплата в данном случае не в ушедших годах, а в содержании текстов, поскольку они-то, как раз, очень далеки от бесшабашного веселья. Скорее, порой они напоминают горькую насмешку над реальностью. Мартин, не жалея сарказма, бичует пороки общества, рисуя неутешительные картины окружающей нас действительности. Оттого веселье становится горьким. |

Замечательный образец позитивного folk-метала - замешанный на ритмах кельтской музыки heavy слушается легко и приятно. Присутствующие на альбоме скрипка и мандолина удачно дополняют мелодии, но при этом не выходят на первый план, так что музыка не превращается в выступление балагана с случайно заглянувшими туда гитаристами и ударником. Сам альбом под завязку набит яркими мелодиями и запоминающимися припевами, которые продолжают крутиться в голове ещё долгое время после окончания последнего трека. Содержимое диска выгодно отличается разнообразием: настроение треков варьируется от мрачного до лирического, вплоть до откровенно стёбных композиций. Помимо собственных композиций группы на диске присутствуют два кавера и два бонус-трека (одним из которых является уже успевший стать классикой "Penny Dreadful"), которые без проблем вписываются в общую атмосферу диска. Отдельного упоминания заслуживает лирика - она выше всяких похвал. Для свободно владеющих английским языком людей разбор текстовой составляющей альбома доставит дополнительное удовольствие. Но самое главное достоинство альбома в том, что он не приедается и не пылится на полке, а достаточно часто крутится в моём плеере. Оценка? Она очевидна. |
