 Atreyu пожалуй одна из самых динамично развивающихся групп в металкоре. Парни очень быстро умудряются исправлять свои ошибки и при этом совершенно не боятся идти на эксперименты. Новый альбом этой калифорнийской банды вышел на удивление быстро прямо, как снег на голову. Правда, удивляться здесь нечему. Мне кажется, что после выхода предыдущего A Death - Grip On Yesterday(2006), ребята поняли, что их стало слегка клинить в рамках одного направления. И по этому они решили по раскинуть своими амбициями и выйти за рамки стиля, так же кстати сделали, в своё время, Avenged Sevenfold на своём City Of Evil(2005). Правда, если Avenged Sevenfold слегка потеряли в тяжести, то Atreyu, как раз нечего не потеряли.
Самое главное, что можно выделить при прослушивание альбома - это разнообразие композиций и отсутствие, какого бы то ни было, одного настроения у альбома, здесь вы найдёте песни на все случаи жизни(по крайней мере по настроению они все разный). В плане жанра всё тоже весьма сильно изменилось, в музыке появилось значительно больше хардкора, постгранжа и классического рока, что внесло значительное разнообразие. Из чего можно провести прямую линию и к другому очень важному аспекту альбома - это вокал.
Вокал - это вообще отдельная тема, все, что можно сказать, что он значительно преобразился, стал сильнее и мелодичнее. Чистого пения стал больше, в то же время скриминг-гроул отошёл на задний план и приобрёл скорее статус бэк-вокала. В некоторых песнях скриминговых воплей вообще нет. Права это не значит, что место скриминга заменило исключительно пение - это не так. В музыке Atreyu появились брутальные хардкоровыен начитки знакомые нам по музыке Biohazard или Hatebreed. Яркий пример первая же песня Doomsday, или идущая следом Honor. Манипуляции с бек - вокалом тоже дали значительные результаты, создаётся эффект многоголосья.
В техническом плане придраться вообще не к чему. Отличная работа барабанщика, фантастические гитарные соло и жёсткие рифы в духе 80-х(особенно можно выделить трек Two Become One - отличная гитарная вещь). Добавьте ко всему этому просто великолепную аранжировку и получите, просто шикарный альбом.
Итак, подведём итог. Хоть на носу новый альбом, весьма любимых мною, Avenged Sevenfold, на данный момент Lead Sails Paper Anchor, пожалуй один из самых выделяющихся альомов в рамках свого стиля(пост металкора). Не знаю, конечно, выдержит ли он проверку временем (посмотрим лет через 10), по этому ставлю 9 балов из 10.
