 Как бы ни были блестящи подвиги прошлого, они навсегда остались в прошлом. И Onslaught сделали лучшее, что могли сделать, чтобы, подобно бомбе, вернуться на сцену во время, когда трэш больше не пользуется былой популярностью. Они модернизировались и выпустили нехилый альбом с более тяжёлым звуком и более современными рифами, острыми как ножи… Слегка напоминает звучание коллег Exodus, которым тоже приходится нести знамя экстремальной музыки в условиях для трэша неблагоприятных. Но при повторных прослушиваниях закрадывается в голову мысль, что Onslaught перед «возвращением из ада» проштудировали творения коллег по цеху, например Slayer «Diabolus In Musica» (1998) или «Chist Illusion» (2006). Урок они, очевидно, усвоили хорошо: ибо опус сей как «Иллюзия Христа» и звучит, и так же брызжет из каждой песни насилием, войной и наивным, детским дьяволопоклонничеством марки Керри Кинга… Обложка тоже мне уже где-то попадалась: как будто на «Bestial Devastation» Sepultura. В менее модном варианте, разумеется.
Но такие вещи как Shock And Awe, Pain и Killing Peace гарантированно сдуют вас с табуретки! Таким образом, альбом можно смело записывать в «спорные» как и «Christ Illusion», и кому понравился последний ЕР из закромов Slayer, тот полюбит и этот кусок аудио-ненависти, не смотря на вторичность и идеи и музыки.
