 На первом своем альбоме Онслот, на первый взгляд, достаточно стандартным продукт того времени – сырой спид с минимумом мелодий и максимумом скорости. Но именно у англичан сырость звучания выглядит не грязной небрежностью, а именно продуманным инструментом создания «замогильной» атмосферы. Уж что-что, а это им удалось в полной мере. Чего нельзя сказать про остальные качества альбома. Песни слишком безлики и наивно примитивны, вторая и третья вообще производят впечатление набросков. Мелодий или хотя бы вменяемых соло на альбоме также не замечено. В такой ситуации спасти дело могли бы хорошие риффы, но по-настоящему интересный риффинг наблюдается только в «Skullcrusher II», да ещё, пожалуй, в «Witch Hunt» (последняя ещё и занятной басовой игрой приметна). В общем, кроме своей атмосферы, альбом ничем не приметен. |
