 Первый официальный концертник немцев, записанный во время тура 1987-1988 гг., и ставший одновременно последней записью с «лицом группы», вокалистом/басистом Шмиром, который чуть позже сформировал свой аналогичный по стилю исполнения коллектив под названием Headhunter. На концертник вошли десять вещей из разных периодов, причём упор делался на два последних альбома как одних из самых «сильных» и хитовых: три песни (одна из них – инструментал) с «Infernal Overkill», три с «Eternal Devastation», две с EP «Mad Butcher» и три с наиболее техничного и сложного «Realise from Agony». Весьма интересен тот факт, что здесь нет главной, по мнению многих, песни Destruction, а именно «Total Desaster». Нужно сказать, что материал подобран просто идеально и состоит из сплошных хитов, до сих пор исполняемых группой на концертах. Записан альбом очень качественно, с двумя гитаристами, что является несомненным плюсом, так как добавило необходимой мощи обычно «жидкому» звучанию группы при игре втроём (на тот момент, естественно). Всё это подкреплено весьма нетривиальными импровизациями, что также идет в копилку несомненных плюсов этого диска. Нельзя не отметить оформление альбома: Сумасшедший Мясник здесь просто превосходен, хоть, конечно, и уступает оформлению одноименного ЕР по части детальной прорисовки.
Учитывая все описанные достоинства, можно утверждать, что этот диск даже превосходит аналогичные ему от Sodom и Kreator того времени по вносимым импровизациям и, более того, наличием даже некой «прогрессивности». Очень жаль, что между таким нетривиальным дуэтом, как Шмир/Зифрингер вскоре произойдет раскол, положивший конец существованию на ближайшее десятилетие (потуги без Шмира не в счёт) одной из самых интересных немецких трэш-металлических групп. C лёгкой грустью должен отметить, что современный Destruction – совсем не то… |
