 Восьмой альбом немецкой группы Rage, приуроченный к ее десятилетию. В подобных случаях, как правило, выпускают какие-нибудь сборники из серии "Best Of...", но Rage в данном случае решили собрать и доработать практически весь нереализованный за предыдущие годы материал. Несколько песен были сочинены еще в 1983-1984 годах, когда группа носила имя "Avenger" ("She Killed And Smiled", "Prayers Of Steel", "Destination Day" и другие). А "The Unknown" была написана Peavy в 1988-м году во время того самого злополучного тура по США, но, как говорит сам Peavy: "Во время тура ты никогда не будешь помнить все то, что происходило с тобой в предыдущий день". И песня была забыта на долгое время. Также здесь присутствуют "Sumbission", не вошедшая в "Execution Guaranteed", "Vertigo", которая должна была появиться на релизе "Reign Of Fear", и другие забытые и недоделанные ранее композиции. Также хочу отметить "The Blow In A Row" - интересную песню-нарезку из старых хитов, таких, как "Down By Law", "Don't Fear The Winter", "Enough Is Enough".
Вообще, считается, что данное творение стало самым тяжелым альбомом Rage, и я с этим согласен. Он сильно отличается от всех других работ группы, и у меня просто не получается прослушивать его за раз от начала до конца. Однообразие, тягучесть и монотонная "тяжесть" отдельных композиций ощутимо "перегружает" уши. Конечно, можно выделить несколько интересных вещей, таких, как "She Killed And She Smiled" и "Take Me Blood", но, в целом, материал альбома далек от разнообразия и многогранности, и звучит скучновато. |
