Voice of Ruin was born in 2008 driven by the common desire of five Swiss farmers who dreamt of leaving the family farm and becoming rock stars. Hungry for success and recognition, the five strapping young lads abandoned their shovels and harvesters to take on a different type of instruments, with the goal of becoming icons of sex, alcohol and rock’n’roll (or horny farmer metal).
Between two harvests and after a first EP, the band releases its first album in 2011 through Heimathome Records. They quickly sell 666'666 copies of this release, which allows the quintet to make a lot of cash and spend it on alcohol and women, like bankers, whilst playing a series of shows in Switzerland and France. In 2012, Voice Of Ruin releases its first video clip “Dépendances” and embarks aboard a tractor for a 10-date tour in Russia and Ukraine, travelling 12’000 KM.
In 2013, the band is nominated among one of the five best Swiss metal bands by the Swiss Live Talents allowing them to play during the Swiss Awards in Bern. A good exposure for these hop-farmers who recently filmed their new video clip “Cock’n Bulls” at home, at the farm. This new video clip doesn’t go unnoticed; even Heidi is shocked by the perversity of her childhood friends.
However, times are tough and cows and hop don’t make enough money to sustain their extreme and rock’n’roll lifestyle. The band is hence obliged to record a second album “Morning Wood” in order to fill the coffers. Distributed by Irascible in Switzerland and Plastic Head in Europe, this new opus will be released in April 2014 on Tenacity Music and will allow the band to tour Japan in spring 2014 with The Black Dahlia Murder and Fleshgod Apocalypse.
To this day, Voice Of Ruin have played more than one hundred concerts (and drunk as many hectoliters of beer) and was lucky to share the stage with bands like Caliban, Entombed, Textures, Tankard, Sylosis, God Dethroned, Benighted, Sybreed, Do Or Die, Breakdown Of Sanity, The Arrs and In-Quest.
