Fort Wayne, Indiana (USA) is not a city known for its thrash or power metal. Since 2005, however, Zephaniah has taken it upon themselves to change that. Disinterested in the repetitive sound of the music scene in the area, Zephaniah focused on introducing a new style of music to the Midwest scene, drawing inspiration from bands such as Manowar, Symphony X, and a variety of European power metal acts.
A fairly young band, Zephaniah is making a name around the nation and creating a lasting impression among fans. Now after disbanding and the amazing amount of requests to reform, Zephaniah has answered the call and is establishing themselves to a larger international market.
Their new lineup consists of original members: Justin Zych (Viking, Vindicator, Valhalla) on guitar, Logan Detwiler (Valhalla) on vocals, Ian Bender (Beneath It All) on bass, and new members Tony Rudny (Beneath It All) on guitar and Cody Johns (Viking, 80000 Dead). Even after a four year break, Zephaniah's undeniable skill and fan loyalty is garnering attention from the press both locally and nationally thanks to proper management. Their fans are loyal. With each highly energetic performance (Known for their intense guitar and drum tricks), these five young men continue to gain admiration from their fans and respect from fellow bands. A highly self-motivated group, Zephaniah is driven by their music and has no intention of slowing down.
The release of their last album, aptly titled "Stories from the Book of Metal," Zephaniah has claimed a stake in the hearts of their fans with stories of pirates, battle, and the power of metal. Combining elements of power, thrash, and neo-classical metal, Zephaniah brings forth a unique sound, filled with tightly-woven guitar harmonies and solos, speed-metal drumming, and strong vocal melodies. Their next album hopes to implement these characteristics as well as bring more to the table. This includes heavier riffs, more intense vocal melodies, bigger orchestrations and of course, more guitar shredding! Expect to see it in the upcoming year or 2014!
Have high expectations for the musical ability and stage performance of Zephaniah. They will never let you down as a live act.
