Symphony of Heaven is a melodic blackened death metal band from the lower region of Indiana. Formed initially by one man - the perseverant Logan “Pathos” Thompson - in the year 2017, the project now consists of Pathos on vocals and guitars and drummer Mason “Asaph” Beard.
The band initially formed as a solo project and released the debut album The Season of Death under this pretense, before becoming a more rounded band by October 2018, when Timōrātus and Asaph joined the venture. By June 2019, Tertsunen became a member of the band, and they embarked on their debut performance at Audiofeed Festival over July 4th weekend of that year.
From the end of 2019 onward, the band took everything in stride, including the lockdowns, mandates, and every other struggle that came their way. By the end of 2020, the band released The Ascension of Extinction; a political-based conceptual EP that commented on the state of the world that explores the fall of man to humanism and Marxism, and the eventual rise of The Man of Lawlessness or The Antichrist.
A new beginning dawned in 2021, with the release of their sophomore album - a new debut with a full lineup - Maniacal Entropik Discordium. This debut as a full band led to a better unit cohesion, where the band became nearly unstoppable in their performance. The album delved into the pain, strife, and agony the band members had gone through over the past several years. Through it all, they found their light and their hope at the end of the tunnel through Jesus Christ.
By 2023, the band has performed alongside bands such as A Hill to Die Upon, Crimson Moonlight, Drottnar, Taking the Head of Goliath, Shadow of Intent, GFM, Signs of the Swarm, Inferi, and Obscura, to name but a few. Drawing influence from melodic death metal artists (In Flames, Dark Tranquility), blackened death metal bands (Behemoth, A Hill to Die Upon) and a plethora of others (Death, Living Sacrifice, Strapping Young Lad), Symphony of Heaven takes them all and creates a brutal and melodic sound, with the goal of evolving and progressing further.
With a new chapter being written, the band prepares a revised, reimagined, and re-recorded version of "In Anger's Midst" to usher in the future of the band's sound and independence as artists.
