Dutch death-metal band Bloodboil was formed in 1997 under the name of Object. Inspired by bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide etc they recorded a demo cd entitled Object. After a line-up change the music progressed to a more brutal sound. The band changed its name to Bloodboil to fit the new musical direction. In June 2000 Bloodboil recorded their demo cd The art of the flesh . A six track brutal death-metal assault which quickly spread the name of Bloodboil throughout the scene. Unfortunately, vocalist Norman decided to leave right after the recordings. It took well over a year before Bloodboil found in Coen a worthy vocalist. Based on the good reviews that the art of the flesh demo got in various magazines all over the world, Bloodboil inked a deal with Great White North Records from Canada. Bloodboils debut album Festering Fornication was recorded at the well know Excess Studios (Sinister, Disavowed, Pyaemia). Artwork was done by Mexican madman Alfonso Artgore Ruiz. It was this artwork that led to a break up between Bloodboil and GWN records. The label found the artwork to explicit but Bloodboil refused to change it and decided to cancel the deal. After negotiating with several labels Spanish label Flesh Feast Production agreed to release the cd. Unfortunately this label went out of business and once again the release had been delayed. All the hard work, time and money they put in the band wasnt paying off. Coen wasnt motivated enough and decided to quit. But luck was on their side. Original vocalist Norman returned and the band came in contact with Amputated Vein Records from Japan. In September 2006 Amputated Vein Records released the long awaited Festering Fornication cd.
