In July 2012, less than one year after forming, the band was chosen to play on Vans Warped Tour as part of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands competition. They were a part of an online voting competition and received over 13,000 votes which placed them at second for the venue. In addition to number of votes, the winning bands were also chosen based on their creativity, musicianship, and song writing abilities. They were chosen by a panel of record label representatives such as Warner Bros & Maverick Records as well as the founder of the music festival, Kevin Lyman.
