Formed in 2007 by guitarist Lee Luland and drummer Blake Richardson, the band Prospekt was unleashed. Lee and Blake together forged a sound that would epitomize the Prospekt sound, technical and progressive.
With the addition of bassist Phil Wicker and vocalist Matt Winchester, Prospekt began writing music for their first demo, released at the beginning of 2010. The demo featured three original compositions, with full artwork by Mattias Noren (Evergrey, Kamelot, John Petrucci), and represented the culmination of a productive year of song writing.
2011 saw the addition of keyboardist Richard Marshall as the band continued to develop their sound, playing and headlining a string of gigs at key Oxford venues, as well as release a critically acclaimed 4 track EP mixed by Acle Kahney (Tesseract).
In 2012 and with Richard taking over lead vocal duties, Prospekt finished recording their debut album 'The Colourless Sunrise'. The nine track effort, mixed by Adam Getgood (Periphery) and mastered by Jens Bogren (Symphony X, Opeth, Devin Townsend) is scheduled for release in the spring of 2013.
