Imonolith was formed in January 2018. Ryan 'RVP' Van Poederooyen (Drums) and Brian 'Beav' Waddell (Guitar) are the originating band members. They originally started writing music together for the then untitled band in 2015, while respectively playing in the Devin Townsend Project (2009-2017) at the same time.
Ryan, and Brian starting jamming with their good friend and Bass Player, Byron Stroud (Ex-Strapping Young Lad, Ex-Fear Factory, Ex- 3 Inches of Blood, Zimmers Hole)) in January 2018. They showed him their catalogue of already written metal genre tunes. Byron joined the band immediately after liking what he heard.
The obvious choice for the 2nd Guitar Player was another good friend and amazing riff master, Jed Simon (Ex-Strapping Young Lad, Ex- Scar The Martyr, Ex-Vimic, Zimmers Hole). Byron and Jed played together for years in Strapping Young Lad and Zimmers Hole, and had amazing chemistry. Jed was digging the people in the band, the music that was already written and joined the band on the spot. He started contributing his monstrous riffs to the band as soon as he joined.
The last person to join the band was Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea). Ryan, Beav, Byron and Jed had been looking into other known singers when, Jon was recommended to the band through a mutual friend. They got in touch with Jon and two days after that call, Jon immediately laid down some incredible vocal tracks to two of the bands songs which sealed the deal for the band to invite him into the fold. Jon's versatility and great showmanship made it an easy decision for the guys to select him as the vocalist for the band.
Imonoliths music is heavy, driven, and versatile metal. You can count on screaming vocals, some blast beats and rippin' guitar riffs, along with some slower paced moody grooves, right up to some amazing hooks (musically and vocally) throughout. Imonolith doesn't like to stick to one thing. They let their musical versatility shine throughout their music and WILL always deliver the goods when it comes to playing live world wide.
