For Myrkvar, it all began early 2003. The "On Broken Wings" demo was soon released in 2004. This demo is Myrkvar's old black metal style.
After some line-up changes, the style of music changed. The Folk/Viking-infuences where added and became more dominant, though black metal was kept as the basis of the music. The violin and keyboards give the music a catchy and folky atmosphere.
In 2006 the promo-song "I Viking" was recorded. This is the first release that has Myrkvar's folk element.
Late 2006 the band started with the recordings of their first full-length album. Shortly after the recordings Eburaz and Hjorulf left the band. Arbudon replaced Eburaz on drums. The band decided not search for a new guitar player of vocalist. The guitar parts are done by Uruz alone, and the vocals by Hrabnilaz, Herubern and Uruz.
