"The Sleeping Prophet", новое видео группы DARZAMAT, доступно для просмотра ниже. Этот трек взят из альбома A Philosopher at the End of the Universe, выпущенного в прошлом году.
Darzamat was born in winter of 1995, when two members of black metal Mastiphal – Flauros and Simon - started a new project.
The name was taken from the Slavic mythology, where Darzamat was said to be a deity guarding the forests. It suited perfectly the darkly majestic spirit presented in their music. The debut album “In the Flames of Black Art” was released in 1996. Simon (midi and drums programming, bass and guitar recording, composing) and Flauros (lyrics, composing) prepared eight compositions being mix of black metal and orchestral parts, which was quite novel at the time. Right before recording session Kate joined the band in order to plait some sensuality and melancholy into aggressive music.
The first release received very good comments among fans and music press, and gathered high marks in many reviews. Despite a few deal proposals Darzamat decided to issue one more album under the wings of native Faithless Records.
In summer of 1997 ex – Dragon drummer – Bomba and a guitarist Daamr were hired to complete the lineup. The following year musicians entered the studio to record the second material entitled “In the Opium of Black Veil” (both albums was re-issued by Metal Mind Productions in 2002).
In 1999 the group switched to Avantgarde Music, signing a contract, after which the band disappeared for a few years. The main reason for such a long brake was forming Simon’s “PostStreet Studio”, where the third album – “Oniriad” (released in 2003) was recorded. During the session Daamr left to be replaced by Chris. A new drummer Paul also appeared. But it wasn’t the end of personal rotation. “Oniriad” became a bone of contention, as a result of compromises Flauros had to agree with Simon. The album was as experimental compilation of many styles and Flauros wasn’t proud of it at all. Because of divergence of musical visions, after eight years of cooperation Darzamat’s founders had to split up. Simon left to concentrate on his work as a producer at his own studio. Flauros, longing for black art, gathered new people to continue his devotion to metal.
In 2003 Chris with help of Daamr again, started composing a new material. The same year, to finish with “beauty and beast” vocals and to replace Kate (moved to USA), Nera was recruited. On drums appeared Golem (ex-Dragon) and the last link to close the chain was Spectre on keyboards.
With new power and new blood Darzamat recorded the fourth album – “SemiDevilish” (produced by Maciej Mularczyk), which was released in 2004 by Metal Mind Records. The new release skillfully combined black and death metal with dark, gloomy atmosphere, so characteristic for the band. In a short time the band managed to be seen in action at numerous festivals, e.g.: “Moscow After Midnight”, “ Brutal Assault” (beside Cannibal Corpse and Impaled Nazarene), “Metal Head Mission” (beside Pungent Stench) or “Metalmania” (beside Cradle of Filth, Apocalyptica, Napalm Death, Arcturus, Katatonia, Dark Funeral, Pain and Amon Amarth). They also took part in a Dark Stars Festival tour.
For the track “In Red Iris” the band filmed an interesting clip placed in a post- industrial gallery. Another one, live video, was recorded during the show in Czech Republic.
Lately the band has parted with Daamr and has been working on the material for the fifth album which should be out this year yet.
